Hole-in-One Club
On Saturday evening 24th April 2000 John Sugden from the North East, accompanying 2 young friends who were members, played a low pitch shot from 'The Pulpit' (5th tee) on to the front of the green. The ball bounced once and rolled forward into the hole. This was the first ever hole-in-one at the Riverside Golf Club. The following week a similar shot by Paul Boustead on the same hole saw the first member's hole-in-one. This time Paul's shot landed front left of the green. On the second bounce it hit the foot of the flag and in. Since then the hole-in-one club has expanded to embrace around one extra member per month.
